Parent Partnership aims to support and inform all parents at Bettridge and those parents in the wider community with similar interests in Learning Disability.

We do this by having a programme of events that run each term. These events are both informative and fun.

In addition the fortnightly meetings provide an opportunity for parents to chat and share both the joys and the anxieties of day to day life in a relaxed atmosphere. Books and pamphlets that are kept in school are also available to borrow.

A useful souce of information is the glosfamilies directory . The glosfamilies directory was launched in 2008, and has developed into a brilliant tool for families in the county looking for information on just about anything they might need but this online facility has just got even better. The directory now also includes a ‘What’s On?’ search facility where families can search for events by date, place and cost (including free events). This will be particularly useful for the Summer holidays.

Parent Drop In

This session is run by Parents for Parents. The facilities of the Community Room are available for you to use. There will always be Parents there to greet you and to have a cup of tea or coffee with. In addition there are two computers, that are set up for you to use to search the internet for topics that currently interest you or perhaps you could print some symbols as a communication aid if you need them at home.

We hope to see you there. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun and a good time to relax and chat.

Friday Parent Partnership

As well as the ‘Drop In’ we will continue to meet on alternate Fridays. These sessions will continue to have a theme. By having both days we hope that more of you can come.

The Friday sessions will also be held in the Community Room from 10.00am-11.30am.

29th January       Time to chat

This will be a chance for new Parents / Family members and carers to get to know Parents who have been with us a while. A good time to have a chat, compare notes and have a nice cuppa!

The rest of the programme is still to be arranged but will happen on the following dates. (More information soon!)
