3rd December 2010

The School Council has recently been involved in interviewing for our new Headteacher. They thought of what they would like to know about the candidates and composed suitable questions. On the interview day they conducted themselves very well when asking the questions and having brief discussions with the candidates.

‘Keep Asking Me’ – 15th October 2010

Consulting about Inclusive Out of School Creative Activities for Disabled Children and Young People

Every child, whatever their needs, has the right to participate fully in their community and to have the same choices, opportunities and experiences as other children; to make local friends, and to access facilities.school_council

‘Keep Asking Me’ follows on from three previous consultations with disabled and non-disabled children and young people (‘Ask Me’ – June 2007, ‘Ask Me 2’ – April 2008 and ‘Keep Asking Me’ October 2009). These previous consultations were designed to elicit the views of young people with severe learning difficulties and their non-disabled peers with a focus on the arts and how they do, or would like to become more involved in creative activities outside of school.

A key aim for ‘Keep Asking Me’ was to focus on consolidation using ‘what worked’ at the previous consultations and share the day with mainstream creative activity providers from across Gloucestershire to reinforce the value of the consultation’s results when they programme creative activities. The day involved delegates participating in four sessions:

  1. Consultation
  2. Theatre / Drama
  3. Singing
  4. Finale session with Bristol based band ‘Babyhead’.
